3D printing technology for trauma rehabilitation

The Accident and Orthopedic Service of  National Hospital of Sri Lanka,  has recently begun using 3D printing technology for trauma rehabilitation.

This innovative approach to patient care is providing patients with faster and more effective recovery from injuries. By using 3D printing, doctors and medical staff are able to create customized prosthetic devices that  tailored to the individual patient’s needs. This allows for a more comfortable and precise fit, which can greatly improve the patient’s recovery time.

The use of 3D printing technology is a prime example of how innovative solutions can improve patient care and make medical institutions more efficient. This new approach is expected to play a crucial role in the rehabilitation of patients suffering from traumatic injuries, and will help to set a new standard in rehabilitation care in Sri Lanka.

This is a significant step towards the digitization of healthcare in Sri Lanka, where 3D printing technology will be playing a vital role in the medical field in the future. The National Trauma Secretariat is working actively to develop this technology further working with different partners.
