Program 2026

The National Trauma Conference 2026 will feature a comprehensive two-day scientific programme, complemented by pre-conference workshops, bringing together clinicians, nurses, allied health professionals, emergency medical service personnel, researchers, educators, policymakers, administrators, and development partners from Sri Lanka and around the world.

Under the theme “From Resilience to Excellence: Sustaining Trauma System Transformation,” the conference will explore the entire continuum of trauma care—from injury prevention, community first response, prehospital emergency care, and patient transport to emergency department management, definitive surgical care, intensive care, rehabilitation, disability management, reintegration into society, and long-term recovery.

The programme has been designed to foster multidisciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange through hands-on workshops, internationally renowned keynote lectures, expert panel discussions, debates, scientific paper and poster presentations, case-based learning sessions, and exhibitions of innovative technologies. Particular emphasis will be placed on strengthening integrated trauma systems, digital health and artificial intelligence, trauma registries, quality improvement, disaster and mass casualty preparedness, rehabilitation, and equitable access to high-quality trauma care.

By bringing together national expertise with international best practices, the conference aims to showcase Sri Lanka’s progress in trauma system development while creating opportunities for regional and global collaboration, research partnerships, and innovation. The conference will serve as a platform to share experiences, influence policy, and accelerate the transformation of trauma care systems that are resilient, evidence-based, patient-centred, and sustainable.
